Pilot assessment
AI capability assessment — pilot
This assessment asks how you would handle ten work situations in which AI could be used. It assesses your decisions and reasoning, not your knowledge of AI terms.
- Answer in your own words. A concise answer is sufficient when it explains the important actions, choices, and reasons.
- Use only the information in each scenario. You may describe checks or conversations you would carry out, but you do not need to perform them during the assessment.
- You do not have to use AI in every situation. Using it for only part of a task, or deciding not to use it, can be appropriate when you explain why.
- When a condition changes, say what you would keep from your first response and what you would change. Do not assume that you must start again.
- You are not expected to know specialist terminology. Plain language is encouraged.
- Do not use external AI tools to write or improve your responses. The assessment is intended to capture your own reasoning.
Expected answer style: Short practical plans, decisions, or explanations. Bullets are acceptable. Most responses should be possible in roughly 3–8 sentences; relevance and reasoning matter more than length.
Estimated completion time: 70–90 minutes. This is an authoring estimate based on 20 response moments and is pending pilot validation with the intended population.
